Currently, <strong>all land borders remain closed to tourists<\/strong>, including crossings with Georgia, Russia, Iran and Armenia. This means that <strong>you won't be able to get there by land<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Currently, <strong>the only way to enter is by plane<\/strong>, with Baku being the main point of arrival. To do this, you need to <strong>previously process the <a href=\"https:\/\/evisa.gov.az\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">e-visa<\/a><\/strong>, which is usually approved in a few days and can be easily requested online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In the future, land crossings with Georgia, historically the most common entry point for backpackers, are likely to reopen. Batumi is only <strong>20 minutes<\/strong> from the border, so it's a quick and very easy trip to arrange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to do it:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">From the center of <strong>Batumi<\/strong>, you take a <strong>city bus<\/strong> or <strong>marshrutka<\/strong> that indicates <em>Sarpi<\/em>. They run very frequently and the journey costs very little.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You get off at the Georgian border post and complete the exit formalities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You walk a few meters to the Turkish side, where you go through passport control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">On the Turkish side, just 200\u2013300 meters away, you'll find direct minibuses to <strong>Hopa, Arhavi, Trabzon<\/strong> and other cities in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The entire process usually takes between <strong>30 minutes and 1 hour<\/strong>, around <strong>6\u20138 hours<\/strong>, depending on traffic at the border.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avtovokzaly.ru\/avtobus\/tbilisi-moskva\" Yerevan \u2013 Tbilisi Train<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">It exists, but <strong>it doesn't work all year round<\/strong> and it's usually slow.
