Ephesus is probably the most visited archaeological site in the country, and you've surely already seen a thousand photos of its most famous postcard: the Library of Celsus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even so, I had my doubts about including it in my Turkey itinerary<\/a>. Mainly because of the entrance fee, which isn't cheap for a backpacker's budget, and because several travelers had told me things like \"it's just the library\" or \"if you've seen other ruins, they're similar.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I finally went, and thank goodness I didn't listen to them. To reduce Ephesus to just the library is to only see a part of it. Although most of the structures are destroyed, the complex is large, with streets, theaters, and temple remains that still allow us to imagine quite well what the city was like in its time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
