For a month I traveled to many of the places I had always wanted to see, from Tokyo, the city I had imagined so many times, to ascent of the imposing Mount Fuji. As I moved south, I noticed how South Korea was getting closer and closer on the map, awakening my curiosity to get to know it.

Already in Fukuoka, in southwestern Japan, I discovered that ferries departed from its port directly to Busan in just a few hours. It has a huge variety of areas, each with its own style, which means you never feel like you're seeing the same thing over and over.

On one hand, you have urban beaches like Haeundae, surrounded by skyscrapers but not overcrowded. On the other, you have large coastal parks ideal for walking or running while enjoying views of the city, its greenery, and the sea.

There are also more picturesque neighborhoods, like Gamcheon, with its colorful houses, or temples like Haedong Yonggungsa, located in unique spots overlooking the sea. That combination of nature, modern city, and such diverse areas is what captivated me most about Busan.

The only thing I didn't like was the distance between different places. Since it's a fairly large and sprawling city, getting from one point to another by public transport can take time, and at times I found it a bit tiring.
